TAMA SLP SNARE VIDEOS POSTED
January 23, 2012
Tama Drums has posted a series of videos Joe made to promote their new SLP (Sound Lab Project) snare drums. Please visit http://www.tama.com/SLP/index.html and you can click on the “video” link below each drum to see Joe speak about each drum, play a solo with it, and then use it with a handful of musical tracks in different styles. These drums are all reasonably priced and sound incredible. Check them out!

Hello There,
Wondering what your cymbal setup was for this video shoot?

Hi Matt, in response to your question, I used 2 different cymbal setups for this shoot. For most of the songs, I used my Sabian HHX Legacy setup consisting of 14 Legacy Hats, 17 and 18 Legacy Crashes, 22 Legacy Heavy Ride, and a China cymbal which I think was an 18 Hand Hammered Thin Chinese. For the hard rock and metal tunes, I switched setups to 22 HH Raw Bell Dry Ride, 14 AA Medium Hats, 16 and 18 AAXPlosion Crashes, and 19 AAXTreme Chinese. They sounded great, didn’t they? Thanks for checking out the videos.

Hi Joe, thanks very much for the information. I was impressed with the versatility of the HHX Legacy set up. Sounded great!!

Hey Joe,
I watched your video with the babinga snare and decided to take a chance on something different. The shell thickness is a bit more than my other snares, however, I like the clean and articulate response with the lower resonant note and short sustain. What a great combination. I like the tuning you have and your playing style as well. The beauty of the wood doesn’t hurt, either. It is expected to arrive tomorrow, just in time for the weekend!

Oh and by the way, I’ve ordered the S.L.P. Vintage Steel Drum to be used with my Tama B/B kit. Thanks again.
